Seirafian Carpets
The Seirafian family is a prominent and highly esteemed carpet-weaving family in Iran, known for their exceptional craftsmanship and exquisite Persian carpets. The Seirafian family has been involved in producing carpets for four generations, and their carpets are highly sought after by collectors. 
 
Seirafian carpets are known for their intricate designs, attention to details, use of high-quality materials and natural dyeing techniques. They often feature elegant floral motifs, intricate medallions, and finely woven patterns. The carpets are meticulously hand-knotted that results in creating valuable and timeless pieces of art.  Seirafian carpets are renowned for their exceptional craftsmanship, fine materials, and artistic beauty. They are considered collectors’ items and are often regarded as precious investments. 
 
The late Shah of Iran used Seirafian carpets as presents for his guests, and these carpets have been gifted to various royal families, decorating palaces around the world. Also, there is a valuable Seirafian carpet decorating the United Nations in New York. 
 
Today, Seirafian carpets are revered as some of the finest and most valuable examples of Persian craftsmanship, blending timeless artistry with unparalleled quality.​​​​​​​

History of Seirafian Family 

The Seirafian family has been producing carpets for four generations. It was founded by the late Haj Agha Reza Seirafian who was a reputable banker in 1940s in Isfahan, Iran. Haj Agha Reza had seven sons, each of whom continued producing carpets in their own workshops.
 
Haj Agha Reza's second son, the late Mohammad Seirafian, was by far the most famous Seirafian. He was regarded as the father of luxury handmade persian carpets in Iran. One of his works is currently hanging on one of the walls of the United Nation. Another of his carpet was gifted by the late Shah of Iran to U.S. President Harry S. Truman and is preserved in the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library. His carpets have been decorating many palaces around the world including Niyavaran Palace in Iran.

The Legacy Continues

Mojtaba Seirafian, the eldest son of  Mohammad Seirafian and the first grandson of Haj Agha Reza Seirafian, carries on the family legacy of exquisite carpet weaving. influenced by the masterful works of his father and grandfather, Mojtaba developed a deep appreciation for the art from an early age and began weaving carpets at just 16 while still in high school.
 
Mojtaba Seirafian has held several high-profile auctions in Singapore and Malaysia, his limited-edition carpets are highly sought after by collectors for their exquisite artistry.
 
Mehran Seirafian, the only son of Mojtaba and the first grandson of Mohammad Seirafian, continues the family legacy as the fourth generation of Seirafian carpet producers. He holds a PhD in Management and is dedicated to producing fine carpets that reflect the artistry and craftsmanship of his forebears, ensuring that the family’s rich tradition endures.
